Sony has announced that The Boston Red Sox's Dustin Pedroia will be its cover boy for MLB '09 The Show. On the officialy PlayStation blog, Sony PR's Alex Armour writes:
"Not only is Pedroia a Gold Glove second baseman and 2008 AL MVP, his work ethic, intensity, and overall game skills make him a perfect fit for our best-selling MLB game. We’re excited to have Pedroia become part of the SCEA baseball family and look forward to his participation in all facets of our campaign."
I was pretty excited for the game, especially its new heckling feature, but this announcement turns me off. Now excuse me, while I go search for a New York Yankees story to write up....
