If you're the kind of person who likes to make your own stuff, you probably already subscribe to Make: Magazine, the periodical for crafters, modders and other do-it-yourselfers.
"But, Stephen!" I hear you ask, "I'm totally illiterate and magazines frighten me! What am I to do?" Don't worry, my moronic, imaginary friend, Make: is also available in television form on your local public television station.
Among other awesome DIY segments, the first episode of Make: television features Cyclecide, "an inventive band of performance artists who build pedal-powered amusement park rides and outrageous bicycle contraptions straight out of the dump" as well as a step-by-step guide to converting the innards of your VCR into an automatic cat feeder. That's what I call television.
Check out Make: television's official site for more information, some clips of the show, and a convenient guide to where and when you can watch Make: television from the safety and comfort of your own couch.
