Epic's Mark Rein Details January 'Gears of War 2' Update

Posted January 6, 2009 - By Raymond Padilla

Epic's Mark Rein -- a man I affectionately refer to as "Purple" Rein -- has posted a slew of details concerning the January update for Gears of War 2. I know that many of you are unhappy with Gears 2's online performance. The update addresses a lot of the game's online issues. The purple one says:

"We’re fixing a whole bunch of online exploits. For example we’ve fixed the ability to wield an invisible shield, melee through some walls, gain infinite Lancer ammo and equip a shield and a two-handed weapon simultaneously plus many more. We’re also making several small changes to improve the overall online gameplay experience. A few of the ones that might interest you are; increased penalties for quitting matches early, adding additional spawn protection against planted grenades and chainsaw attacks, and adding the ability to see the Submission flag carrier destination by using Tac/Com."

Achievements will also be addressed in the update; achievement progress will be added to the war journal, making things even easier to track. For the full run down, head on over the Epic's Gears of War 2 forums.

What Gears of War 2 bugs are...er...bugging you the most?
