Swing batta batta batta batta batta. Suuuuh-wing batta!!! Sony's upcoming
MLB 09 The Show will allow gamers use
Rock Band microphones to heckle the baseball players they love to hate.
ESPN's Jon Robinson (a man I know as J-Rob) reports:
"Think A-Rod chokes in the clutch? Ever shout 'Dodgers suck!' or yell 'Drewwwwwww' when J.D. walks up to the plate? MLB 09 is about to bring out the crazed fan in all of us as not only can you record your voice screaming anything from 'Where's Madonna?' to 'we want a pitcher not a belly itcher' and put it in the game thanks to peripherals like the Rock Band mic and wireless headset, the fan yells will sound like your voice actually coming from the stands."
This is a pretty awesome and inventive addition to the game. Heckling baseball players is a huge part of the real-life experience and it's about time someone put it into a game. I wish that the feature could be used online. I'd be perfectly content to watch my friends play and lead some virtual bleacher creatures in heckling them. The creative possibilities are tremendous!
Who'd be the first ballplayer you'd scream at? What lines would you scream at him?!? Most importantly, Red Sox suck!!!
