Google Earth Gets Huge Update to NYC

Posted December 18, 2008 - By Ty Colfax

Google Earth just got a huge update. You can now see virtually all of New York's Manhattan Island in 3D photorealistic textures. That's hundreds of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers you can fly through just like Corey Lidle. They've also included a tilt feature so you can look up and see the buildings as if you were actually there.

And with their new GSmell feature, you can really soak in the experience, because if you've never been to New York, you'll want to know what its really like to stand ankle deep in Chinese food waste while waiting for that bum to stop urinating on you.*

*I kid. I'm a huge fan of New York. Just don't bring any breathe-right strips if you're going to visit. All I'm sayin'.
