We're going to file this under bull*cough*
Some guy recently met with a recruiter who specializes in the online media industry. The recruiter expressed to him that his clients -- the employers who are looking for job candidates -- specifically told him that they don't want World of Warcraft players.
What?!
The recruiter went on to say that employers believe that WoW enthusiasts can't give a 100 percent to the job and that they lack focus because their attention is swirling around elsewhere. Oh, and their sleeping patterns are all messed up, too.
The guy argued with the recruiter that there's literature that says MMOG leadership experience can be positive for a person's career, or a means to develop project management skills.
The recruiter wasn't having it. He emphatically trudged on by saying he's been instructed to avoid WoW players -- what, like the plague?
What do you think? Do you agree with the recruiter that WoW players are a liability on the job, or is this baseless discrimination?
