Many unnamed sources have reported that Apple and AT&T would provide Wal-Mart with a 4GB iPhone at a price of $99 later this month.
This price is half of what the 8GB iPhone currently sells for.
There's a more solid rumor that Wal-Mart is slated to begin selling current iPhone models in 2,500 of its locations, as well as 69 Sam's Club outlets.
A Wal-Mart store manager said they weren't sure if Apple could supply them with the iPhones in time for Christmas.
While most Wal-Mart employees either don't know about such a model or if their store would be carrying the phone, one department manager did say her store would get the 4GB iPhone, as well as other models for the holidays.
