Gaming's favorite pet detectives, Sam and Max, are headed to the Wii (again) and PC. The second batch of Sam and Max's episodic adventures will be bundled as retail discs to be published by Atari in 2009. Wired reports:

"Atari said today that it will publish the retail boxed versions of Telltale Games' Sam & Max Season Two. The 'season' of five episodic point-and-click adventure games are currently available through digital download for PC, and as a disc available through Telltale. Atari will publish the games in retail stores as a set for Wii and PC in 2009."

Very cool. I hope Sam & Max Season 2 does well at retail. It's nice to see a six-foot dog and his hyperactive rabbit sidekick do well in today's world. After all, the duo first appeared in comics in 1987, making their video-game debut in 1993. This makes them incredibly long-lived animals. Plus, it's awesome to have updates of a classic point-and-click franchise alive today.
