Megadeth's Dave Mustaine had some interesting things to say about Rock Band (which he thinks is a great game) on the band's video message boards. The stylish shredder also touches on the Internet and takes a jab at artists that do not make their music available in digital form.
"We don't have any intention right now to put Rust in Peace out as an entire album for Rock Band, but I'd love to talk to them about that. In fact, I think that these new games and the advent of YouTube and MySpace and being able to upload your music -- it's the way of the future. These old fucking dinosaur bands that don't want to put their music up on iTunes or have anything to do with you guys doing games with Rock Band and stuff like that. It's just stupid. You know, just have mercy on them and feel sorry for them and buy our stuff instead."
First off, I didn't know Mustaine could speak that long without whining about getting kicked out of Metallica more than 25 years ago. Secondly, he's right on the money. It's nice to see artists embrace modern technology, especially when it comes to gaming. Dave sells...and I'm buying.
