Eidos Interactive, subsidiary to SCi and best known for the game Tomb Raider, may be acquired by either Electronic Arts or Ubisoft.
Both companies are attracted to Eidos successful Tomb Raider and Hitman franchises, not to mention since SCi is facing some difficult times, they could pick these up for a bargain price.
The slumping numbers are astounding as Eidos losses are in the quadruple figures with share price depreciating at a dismal 92%. At their zenith, the once $1 billion firm is just worth $50 million now.
Both EA and Ubisoft held off to see if Lara Croft would be released, which was initially delayed. It was delivered this week just in time for the holidays.
