New Nintendo DS Colors And Bundles For Black Friday

Posted by Raymond Padilla - Tuesday, November 25, 2008 7:10 AM

Nintendo announced two new Nintendo DS bundles that will hit the North American market on Black Friday (November 28). Nintendo's press release states:

"The Mario Red Nintendo DS bundle includes a red system emblazoned with a familiar M for Mario, and a copy of New Super Mario Bros. The Ice Blue Nintendo DS comes with a custom carrying case and the popular Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day. Each bundle sells at an MSRP of $149.99."

You can check out both colors in the press release. I like the subtle style of the ice blue model better, though a similar color has been available in Japan for a long time. The red system is a bit loud, but definitely cool for collectors and Mario fans. Right now, I'm all set with an original white DS and a limited edition Pokemon DS in black, so I'll probably skip out on these. How about you guys? Do you like either or both of these new bundles? Are you tempted to pick one up this weekend?

I'd like to get one but my focus is on Chrono Trigger and more games for my PS3. But I was lucky enough to get the Legend of Zelda gold DS lite last year and I absolutely love it. These are great for the collectors in all of us!

Folks I will try picking up one for my wonderful wife! I Believe she would really like the pretty blue one! I myself will probably be purchasing Tecmo Bowl to go with it! I will probably be purchasing other titles! There is just not enough money!

I want one but does the DSi have promising titles coming out around holiday season or early '09?

@shingouki666 The DSi will not be available in North America until late summer or early fall 2009. While you can go ahead and get a Japanese one, the download store is region specific so there are no guarantees it will be compatible outside of Japan.

I may be getting this edition....

I'll probably be skipping these. Don't get me wrong, I like the designs of both bundles but that Legend of Zelda gold DS Lite last year pretty much made me want to stick with it for a long time until it's broken.

I also have the golden Zelda model (take that South park PSP episode) Still if there is no line when i find one at the store i may invest, but i'm not going to go out of my way to get one or the other. Must get Chrono Trigger.Time will tell. Its great to finally read a post without some idiot saying something really stupid.
