Today, the BlackBerry Storm, RIM's answer to the iPhone, was released in the United States. According to reports, hundreds were lined up at stores in New York City.
There wasn't enough supply to meet demand, however. At one Manhattan store police were required to break up a disturbance when the store ran out of phones.
The Storm, which is the first entirely touchscreen-based BlackBerry, hopes to compete with Apple's iPhone. Apple has overtaken RIM with the iPhone in smartphone sales where the BlackBerry was previously untouchable.
The Storm is currently exclusive to Verizon, while the iPhone remains exclusive to AT&T.
Are you getting the BlackBerry Storm? Did you get one? How do you like it?
