'Gossip Girl' And 'O.C.' Creator To Write X-Men Prequel?

The rumored Marvel prequel (one of them, anyway) entitled X-Men: First Class may be getting creator of Gossip Girl and The O.C. to pen the screenplay.

Currently in developmental stage and set (as of now) for 2010, the film (based on the short-lived comic series) is to tell the tale of the first students to enter Professor Xavier's Mutant Academy. It's also no big mystery that given who they're talking to about this project, that it will be laden with teeny-bopper elements that will certainly be loosely held together by the idea of the world of "mutants vs. humans" that create the dynamic of the X-lore.

Spoiler Alert: The story will be about a new kid in town who's hunky, but rough around the edges and no one likes him. Then he falls for the hot girl in class...who already has a boyfriend (who, of course, is a jerk and doesn't deserve her.) Then some mutant fights will happen over the girl, then they band together in the end to fight evil, but not without designer clothes and product in hair, all this amid "scandalous affairs," yada, yada. Am I getting warm yet, guys? *

NOT a prequel, the plot is supposed to focus on new mutants in the Xavier School...

I've lost all hope in X-Men. I barely liked the first one and they've only gotten worse since then. I still feel like there's never been a truly good superhero flick. Why is it that every movie made seems to be aimed at 13 year-olds??

The first one was good the 2nd one was really good and the 3rd kinda blew!!!

I read that its not a prequel but it will focus on the younger ones....like Bobby, Kitty, angel, Collosus (?). So on and so on! But a reboot is always possible....I dont see why cuz Hugh Jackman is a great wolverine and he has Orgins comin next year....so a prequel would be dumb and reboot would be even more retarded!

HAHAHA, o wow that plot idea was funny, it reminded me of Episode 200 of stargate-sg1, where they think they should replace the entire cast of Wormhole extreme with younger version, wow so funny!

No thay are going to Ruin X-man with teen people like the OC and Gossip Girl and the other one i dont know the names of because thay are about rich teen people and also i dont like people that have more money then me. So much that i dont wich them at all because thay suck. And the only know this ones because of post. Also i would like an X-Man tv show like the 3 X-man movies that are out and number 3 was good like the 1 and the 2 ones because i like the cast. Also the tv show i would like see be like the X-Men animated television series with the same original opening sequence and also with all the X-Men comic book storys but it be with real people.

I'm of the opinion that they need to do a Bond reboot for X-Men. Uses most of the same actors but ignore the 3 existing movies in favor of making it properly. Same goes for the Fantastic Four...though actually I'm just pissed off about them screwing Doctor Doom up.

Characters they've screwed up:
Doctor Doom
Psylocke
Kid Omega (but who cares?)
Storm (debatable)
Juggernaut (only in that he was a mutant in the movie)
Galactus (debatable)
Venom
Alien Costume Spidey (emo git)

Sadly that "fake" plot rings waaaay too true BTW....

This better just stay a rumor, and never come to be! I hate Gossip Girl and The OC and having the guy who created them write an X-Men film, WTF!!!! That makes no sense. What are we going to get if he does write it! A crappy X-Men soap opera!!! Please stay as just a rumor and never happen!
