The Clem Burke Drumming Project has just announced an unprecedented collaborative research initiative with Guitar Hero: World Tour to determine the drum kit's benefit as an aid to live drummers as well as potential health boons for the average user.

The much celebrated research group has for nearly 10 years been studying the physical demands of live rock drumming on the project's namesake, Clem Burke, as he plays shows for Blondie and the Eurythmics, among many other legendary groups.

The research will take place at what is maybe the coolest place on Earth, a newly-built drumming laboratory at the University of Gloucestershire in England. Those words, by the way, are pronounced glousstcher and leBORatorey, in case you were wondering. They'll be measuring heart rate, blood lactate, and brain activity on drummers in the lab playing GH:WT and comparing it with data from live drummers.

Obviously, we'll let you know the results as soon as we get them.

And here's an X-Play All Access for Guitar Hero: World Tour at Leipzig video for you superfans:
