The official site for the new Star Trek film has now posted the brand new trailer (which made its debut this weekend with Bond film Quantum of Solace.)
While as a fan, I'm drooling, as a cynic, that opening sequence kind of says to me "Anakin and the podrace." However, barring Jar-Jar getting his tounge stuck in the engine and then unwittingly blowing up the entire Klingon fleet with "boomers," I'd say this is a very promising trailer. Naysayers and purists are going to whine (its inevitable), however, I like what I'm seeing from J.J. Abrams' "reinvention" of the classic Trek era. While the aesthetic updates were much needed, the jury still remains out on the revisions to the canon (whatever they may be.)
