Square-Enix Publishing 'Supreme Commander 2' For Gas-Powered Games

Posted by Brian Leahy - Wednesday, November 12, 2008 11:35 AM

In an effort to expand their Western business, Square-Enix will publish Supreme Commander 2 for Chris Taylor's Gas Powered Games. This obviously means that Supreme Commander 2 is in development.

It will certainly be released for the PC, but we wouldn't count on another Xbox 360 version, but EndWar and Halo Wars might change the RTS environment on consoles.

The original SupCom was published by THQ, but Gas Powered Games held the rights to the franchise.

What did you think of the first game and its expansion? Did you play it on PC or on the Xbox 360?

I own the first game, but I didn't get the expansion yet. I think it was great on the PC. Haven't played the 360 version, so I can't complain about how bad of a port it was. I'm excited to see that there is a second one in production. Hopefully it will be just as awesome as the first.

@Bybolc,

I enjoyed it but I think it released too early in a hardware cycle.

If there's any game that REQUIRED a dual-core processor it was SupCom.

Most people didn't have them at the time and the play experience suffered.
