In an open letter on the Tabula Rasa web site, Richard Garriott has announced his separation with NCSoft, the company he partnered with to develop and publish Tabula Rasa.
It's an unexpected move but looking back, it makes sense, and it will be interesting to see if the Austin branch of the Korean headquartered company will continue to exist considering it was opened to work specifically with Garriott.
Garriott also notes in the letter that he has accomplished his lifelong goal of going to space and it has changed his priorities, sparking interests in areas other than gaming. So, we'll wait and see what General British can come up with next. Sure, Tabula Rasa wasn't the greatest thing ever and he admits it was a "rough launch," but he gets by on years of Ultima cred.
