One of the studios left without a publishing deal from the Activision Vivendi merger was Massive Entertainment, which created the RTS game World in Conflict for the PC and Xbox 360.
The deal transferred the studio to Ubisoft's control as well as the World in Conflict brand. The studio, which is based in Sweden, will bring its 120 employees into the Ubisoft stable. The company is currently working on World in Conflict: Soviet Assault, which is planned for release on PC, Xbox 360, and the PS3.
Maybe Ubisoft is very serious about getting into RTS gaming in a big way and wants to bring in some extra help for the task. Perhaps they are already looking toward EndWar 2?
