Last night marked the midnight launch of Gears of War 2 and G4tv.com went up to the Universal City Walk EBGames to check out the action.
Cliff Bleszinski was on hand to greet gamers, play some Gears against fans, and sign autographs. He had tons of love for the fans, saying that they have been "absolutely unbelievable". Media interviews are alright, he says, but he likes "rubbing elbows with [the fans]" more.
His favorite sight? A nine year-old dressed up as Marcus Fenix. Doesn't that kid know this game is rated M?
The voice-talent was also at the event and they were more than happy to do the voices from the game to get the crowd riled up for some 5-on-5 games between Cliff and a team of actors against lucky fans inside the store. John DiMaggio also did the requisite Bender voice for the Futurama fans in the audience!

We couldn't help but think how awesome one of these suits of COG armor would have been for Halloween. Epic, please send us one of these sweet suits, please!
The special events for the fans were great, but everyone really just wanted to get their copy and get home as fast as possible! What was Cliff's recommendation for the first thing to do with your brand new copy of Gears of War 2? Jump online and start kicking some ass.
Did you get your copy at a midnight launch last night? What did you do first? Campaign? Co-Op? Horde?
If you missed X-Play's review, you can check it out here.
Be sure to check out our photo gallery of the event!
