Merging and Reorganizing Happens at Electronic Arts

Electronic Arts closed its Casual Label. It has now been merged with Hasbro partnership and the Sims Label. Along with this change, we also see the departure of Kathy Vrabeck, who was named President of EA Casual in 2007.

Two years ago, EA created a casual-centric label for its development studios and thus a Sims and Casual Label has now formed.

"In the days and weeks ahead, we will make further announcements on the reporting structure for the other businesses in the Casual Label including EA Mobile, Pogo, Media Sales and Online Casual Initiatives."

EA recently laid off 600 employees and posted a $310 million net loss for the quarter. Last month, The Sims label also got a new head, Rod Humble. His predecessor, Nancy Smith was to be placed into a yet-to-be-named executive position at EA.
