Report: Beatles Not Coming to 'Rock Band' As DLC

Posted November 3, 2008 - By bleahy

We all know that MTV and Harmonix have snagged exclusive rights to the legendary music of The Beatles for a new game, but it's unclear if the music will ever show up in Rock Band as downloadable content.

Reuters is reporting, sadly, that the music will be exclusive to the new game and not appear in Rock Band or Rock Band 2.

"None of the Fab Four's songs will be available for download on the existing Rock Band franchise," reports Reuters.

If true, we'll just have to wait until Holiday 2009 to start playing.

Furthermore, another gem slipped out of the interview in regards to Activision's bid for access to the music. According to Sony/ATV CEO Martin Bandie, Activision "presented [the option] as if they were doing the music business a favor." Maybe that was the wrong approach to take toward The Beatles.
