THQ Sues Activision Over Baja Box Art

Posted October 31, 2008 - By Tim Cocciardi

Games publisher THQ is totally pissed at Activision-Blizzard, and has followed a copyright infringement suit to let them know. THQ is all like, "Activision totally copied our Baja: Edge of Control box art," and Activision is all like, "no way, our box art for SCORE International Baja 1000 The Official Game is totally different and we don't have to change it."

Both games are based on the Baja 1000 off-road racing event; THQ's game was released in September, Activision's was just released on October 28. The former currently retails for $59.99, the latter, $39.99. Is Activision sneakily taking over the Baja 1000 game category through trickery and even copyright infringement? THQ certainly thinks so, but you be the judge. If you are the judge in this lawsuit.
