Midway Tones Down 'MK vs. DC Universe' To Get T-Rating

Posted October 28, 2008 - By James Elkin

Bad news Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe awaiters, Midway has gone back and toned down the violence in an attempt to keep it teen friendly. Apparently, their standard teen is of the “Aw Shucks, Gee Whiz” variety.

Coveting a T-rating, Midway has focused on the fatalities, most tragically moving the best one in years off screen. Yes, the Joker’s “gag-bullet-followed-by-hearty-laugh-followed-by-genuine-bullet-to-the-face” will no longer be seen in its entirety. We’ll let you guess which part in the sequence they’ve slid off the tube. (Hint: it’s the real bullet to the face part.)

Will all this teen friendliness mean more in sales? Who knows. Will it mean that longtime fans could be disappointed? Chances are… good.
