Frank Miller Confirmed For 'Buck Rogers' Remake?

Posted October 27, 2008 - By Joseph Baxter

It's been a few months since the initial rumors surfaced that Frank Miller was looking to resurrect the Buck Rogers franchise. Well, a recent interview with Deborah Del Prete, producer of Miller's upcoming project The Spirit, has referenced an "old-school" character that Miller was looking to bring back soon.

It seems that a source close to Miller was contacted by IESB.net, and it was confirmed that indeed this "old-school" character was the one and only Buck Rogers (lending further credence to the rumors.) A response to the comments is currently awaited.

It will be interesting to see how Miller would be able to put his spin on what is essentially best known as a cornball classic from the late 70's. Which version of the iconic comic strip character will we see?  Miller's great, but let's hope he doesn't have visions of Twiki as a heroin-addicted dwarf who sells tainted crystal meth to underage hookers at his dog-fighting events.
