First 'Guitar Hero: World Tour' DLC Hits LIVE

Posted by Stephen Johnson - Thursday, October 23, 2008 10:30 AM

The first Guitar Hero: World Tour tracks are up now on Xbox LIVE, which is awesome because Activision's music game isn't even out until the 26th. Another piece of awesome news: Free tracks. That's right, a couple gratis burners to rock out upon and a couple guitar duels for nothing.

Here are the tracks in the Classic Rock Track Pack:

  • "Rock and Roll Band" by Boston
  • "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield
  •  "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner

And the tracks on the Neversoft Track Pack:

  • "Anything" by An Endless Sporadic
  • "Electrorock" by Sworn

Guitar Duels (so you can play the songs from the game's duels at will):

  • Zakk Wylde
  • Ted Nugent

The Classic Rock pack will run you 440 Microsoft Points with individual songs costing 160 points. The Neversoft pack is free, baby, and so are the duels.

No word yet on the PS3 release, but we'll let you know when it happens. Guitar Hero World Tour will be available on the PS3, 360, Wii, and PS2 on October 26th.

Band Hero sucks. Overcharting isn't fun, it makes the game stupidly difficult. Remember GH1 and 2? Those were fun, 2 had it's moments of stupidity.
3 ruined the series. The last sets are impossible on expert. Don't comment about how you beat Raining Blood or Through the fire and flames on expert, because you are a freak with either 3 hands or a trained spider working the controls.

YOU PLAY THE FRICKIN' KEYBOARD IN THAT MASSIVE PILE OF FAIL FROM DRAGONFORCE.

GUITAR=/=KEYBOARD.

@Sephiroth

I don't care how valid your point is, your not clever if you just steal the words from Zero Punctuation. It just makes you look like a uncreative moron, which you probably are.

Also, Hot Blooded is awesome. :P

Regardless of who does or doesn't like GH, does or doesn't like the tracks that are ready for download, at least it looks like Activision has seen the light and is getting ready for steady DLC. If Wikipedia is to be believed (big grain of salt, see link below) then there is a steady stream of downloadable songs already in the pipe.

Now this article relates directly to the 360 and does make a point of addressing the PS3 question, I would like to add the following: Will the Wii have the same content (barring the occasional platform specific content) ready on release day? I'm not interested in starting any fanboy wars or console p!$$ing contests, not do I (as a Wii owner) expect my version of the game to look as "pretty" as the 360/PS3 version... but I do expect to get the same play value for my dollar as the hardcore console crowd - this extends to availability of DLC.

Yeah, my bad... who knew reloading the page would resubmit my post... if possible, an admin could kindly delete this post and the two copies of my original post with my permission.

I love GH but i was so disapointed by the starting setlist (it sucked) i might skip this game, the only way i would buy this now is if the priced dropped and some awsome dlc came out
