In their interview with Variety, Gibeau said that the company has "sequel ideas planned" for shooter Battlefield: Bad-Company and a follow-up to their co-op action title Army of Two. Schofield added that the sequel to Dead Space is already on its way.

Dead Space is now available for the PS3, 360 and PC. Army of Two and Battlefield: Bad Company are out now for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Hit the jump to see X-Play's review of Dead Space.

I figured they were already working on the sequel. I just wonder how they're gonna top the first game?

Hope its still about Isaac he aint dead

Posted by NuBeatz - Thursday, October 23, 2008 10:09 AM

I think Isaac died, the shuttle will either be on a set course back to Earth bringing with it the alien disease or it'll be like Aliens and have Isaac floating in space for 52 years in cryo-stasis, recovered by space marines and back to the planet where the marker was found to substantiate the story. Either way, it'll be another awesome game. Great job Schofield!!

@NuBeatz

Isaac did not die. That scene at the very end was another hallucination caused by the Red Marker, which was left to be destroyed by the falling planet chunk.

Posted by Tasomo - Thursday, October 23, 2008 12:03 PM

I agree with Vesipham.

The body wasn't mutated enough to actually be one of the necromorphs. There were no "mild" mutations with that...it was all or nothing so it definitely had to be a hallucination.

They better make it better than the first Dead Space! Dead Space is an average game is very repetitive. While playing it I noticed it was a rip-off of 3 games! It is a rip-off of Doom 3, Resident Evil 4, and Halo 1.

The setting was taken from Doom 3, the upgrade system was taken from RE4, and the final cutscene is the SAME EXCACT scene as Halo 1's final scene!

Posted by NuBeatz - Thursday, October 23, 2008 12:09 PM

@Vesipham &Tasomo

It wasn't a Necromorph and it wasn't Isaac hallucinating. It was Kendra stowing away on the shuttle after she got pwned by the Hive Mind. She may be turning into a Necromorph or she may be exacting her revenge on Isaac. Either way, it wasn't a hallucination. The marker makes people see things they want to see not things they don't want to see. It manipulates people not terrify them to that extent.

Sweet! The ending was an epic masterpiece! I cannot wait. Id pre-order it right now if I could!

Posted by Letters2Kay - Thursday, October 23, 2008 12:49 PM

This is good news. Now if I can only find some time to play the first one...

Posted by Vesipham - Thursday, October 23, 2008 1:01 PM

@NuBeatz

You do realize that Kendra was smashed to pieces by the Hive Mind -- the controlling force behind all the Necromorphs -- right?

Isaac CLEARLY saw a demented hallucination of Nicole. You can even see the Red Marker's coding flash on the screen as she's screaming in his face.

I loved Dead Space, didnt disapoint me at all and cant wait what they will do for a 2nd. My only compliant's are the game is all about fetching item's, which would have felt tedious had it not been tied into the well ploted story and maybe a little to much looting. And as for the Army of two seqaul, I bet they will add another protaganist and call it Army of 3.

Posted by Tasomo - Thursday, October 23, 2008 2:08 PM

More than anything it was probably the marker messing with him one more time out of rage.

Remember, the marker was sentient and knew Isaac better than anyone because it was climbing in his head. If anything, Isaac was suffering from the same kind of PTSD that war vets who've seen horrible things suffer from.

This is a guy who saw over a thousand people butchered and mutated into some truly creepy stuff. It's a miracle his mind was able to hold together longer than 20 minutes.

Dead Space is Amazing, even if reading these comments just spoiled it for me. (THANKS FOR WARNING ME!)

Way to go Dead Space, best-horror game after Condemned 2

Posted by NuBeatz - Thursday, October 23, 2008 4:51 PM

We'll see exactly what happened at the end of the first game in the second game. Either way, all scenarios sound good and can be added upon with an entirely new story or even protagonist. This is just the first of 3 games planned so we've got a crapload more Dead Space to look forward to! :D

Posted by NuBeatz - Thursday, October 23, 2008 4:53 PM

As far as Kendra being destroyed by the Hive Mind. Yes, I saw that but the whole game is revolved around recumbenence and the reanimation of dead tissue which means you can't rule out anything as far as a corpse! :)

Bunch of spoilers here. I haven't finish the game yet because of Bioshock, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who liked it.
