New 'Watchmen' Poster And Trailer

Posted by Joseph Baxter - Wednesday, October 22, 2008 12:07 PM

Woo hoo! More stuff has come along to whet our Watchmen appetites.

First, a spectacular new trailer was unveiled at Spike's "Scream Awards." Nothing much new here; the new images are still coming to us at (an understandably) piecemeal rate. What else is there to say that hasn't already been said at this point? The film looks spectacular, and may anyone who disagrees with that be tied to a chair and forced to watch 100 viewings of David Hasslehoff's performance as Nick Fury.

Now, there's this new poster released via Yahoo. (Pictured right.) Spectacular imagery capturing the iconic death of "The Comedian" (it's not a spoiler to say that, in fact it's what drama nerds would call the "inciting incident" of the film.)

"Justice is coming to all of us. No matter what we do."

Ya-yess!

This movie is going to be the most expensive piece of crap ever made.

i don't know how good it's going to be but i just wanna see it

It's good that Zack Snyder is directing because the studio will let him make a R rated film. This isn't being trimmed down just for the PG-13 rating, so there's no compromises in the material. He's no James Cameron, but I'm sure he'll deliver.

What is this movie suppose to be about? Visually it looks good, but the trailers give no hint to a plot.

I am super excited for this film, it should be really good, unless the rumors about the ending being changed are true. I am decently marking the 6th on my calendar.

@Al_Coholic
Its a superhero story that takes place in an alternate history version of the paranoid 1980's. Basically it is a "what if superheroes were real and flawed like normal people" story that involves a conspiracy that begins with the brutal murder of one of the heroes and ends with.... well, you have to see the movie (or read the comic book) to find that out.

@Al_Coholic

Read the Graphic Novel, you will not be disappointed.

I saw the teaser trailer for this movie... It made my jaw drop... And to learn that they didn't skive for the sake of a PG-13 rating like Max Payne did (not necessarily the worst movie I'd ever seen; that title belongs to Batman & Robin *yuck*) brings my excitement to a boil. Chances are I'll be boiling over in as little as one month before the film is released to theaters. This movie deserves to be a Summer movie; the only reason it isn't is because AOLTimeWarner obviously believes that the fans have waited long enough (and I'm inclined to agree with them, I mean 10, 20 years? that's too long in my opinion)... Here's hoping that Mr. Snyder gets it right... So far I think he's going to.

Nice trailer, but the song is kinda getting old.

I think this movie is going to stop people from going to the movies again, just like the Wild Wild West did. When they just got me going back to the movies.

Why are some of you disrespecting Watchmen? Its the best graphic novel ive ever read, right next to Preacher. But the 'new' trailer felt disjointed, like it was made of random scene's without any care into the placement of them. Poster is sweet though.

On a side note: The Comedian is one of my all time favorite hero's, he make's The Punisher look moral.

@PukeFace

I agree, Watchmen and Preacher are the best graphic novels I've ever read as well. My boy is Rorschach though.
