Microsoft has announced that post-nuclear RPG Fallout 3 won't be coming out in India, citing "cultural sensitivities." Here's the official word:
Microsoft constantly endeavors to bring the best games to Indian consumers in sync with their international release. However, in light of cultural sensitivities in India, we have made the business decision to not bring Fallout 3 into the country.
Although Microsoft won't say specifically what is culturally insensitive about the game, we have to imagine it's the nuclear weapons; India is engaged in take-no-prisoners cold war with their neighbors in Pakistan. Both countries are packing nuclear arsenals, so we think a game that centers on a nuclear conflagration's aftermath might be a little less fun to play when it could actually happen at any moment. Either that or the game contains violence against cows.
Here in less-sensitive North America, Fallout 3 comes out for the PS3, 360 and PC on October 28th.
