Take a moment to pity our brothers and sisters in Germany and Japan--they probably won't be getting Gears of War 2.
“We can confirm that Gears of War 2 will not be available in Germany or Japan indefinitely," a Microsoft spokesperson told Edge-Online.
The reasons that the sequel won't come out in these nations isn't clear, but, at least in Germany, it likely has to do with the game's violent content. In Japan, who knows? The first Gears did very well in the Land of the Rising Sun, so we're not sure what the issue is with number two. Of course, it could be that Epic and Microsoft are finally getting back at our ancient, World War II enemies. Damn you, Axis Powers!
Here in the good old U.S. of A, Gears of War 2 comes out on November 7th. It's a third-person action game for the Xbox 360, in case you haven't heard of it.
