I saw it in person. It's awesome. But really, they need to make the "PLAYSTATION 3" a little bigger. A game like Resistance 2 deserves to praise it's console.

are you kiddin me? half life revolutionized the fps genre resistance brought nothing new to the table its just an overhyped fps just like halo did and 60 multyplayer there was game called battlefield that use to support 64 to 70 players at once

Putting that much money into something every couple of years is ridiculous. Every time a groundbreaking game comes out you have to get a new graphics card. First half life 2 then crysis damn by the next time one comes out people wont be able to afford it without buying a 10 grand velocity micro and an nvidia quadro......yuck PC gaming is dumb and no Ive played MANY of PC games and ive never been impressed

yeah PCs are great but I can't be a PC gamer.. Know why? F that, I'll drop $400 on a ps3, or $300 on an XBOX (ok, maybe not since the console is suppose to be an investment.. not a freakin hole on your wallet always red ringing X-D ), or even a Wii (which i hardly care for) and have a console that will always work for its generation of games for anywhere between 5-10 years before i start trying to keep up with the Jone's rig. I am favored towards Xbox but the First Resistance was awesome, even with its flaws (bad check point sytem, slow start) that game was freakin awesome. I hope Resistance 2 will just as good, if not better.

P.S.
Why are we fighting over half-life and pc gaming on this page any way? Plus Half-Life Rules and pc gaming isn't going the greatest because of piracy.

And to put my two cents in on PC gaming...

I'll admit... Pirates are forcing PC devs out of work and because EA loaded Spore with enough DRM to make the RIAA or the MPAA envious, it is giving gamers with a sweet rig MORE incentive to pirate games instead of supporting the people who made them. My first EVER game was played on a PC. I'm fortunate enough to have a PC, an Xbox 360 Elite and a PS3 and I will always say that whatever fate PC gaming eventually meets, I will always play games on PC. Nothing wrong with the keyboard and mouse control scheme... I'd like to think it separates the men from the boys. ;-) After all, anyone can get used to a controller.

I've seen many gameplay of Resistance 2 but I must say I'm a little bit disappoint, first beginning by the graphism. I mean PS3 the most powerful console right now could make better graphism than that. We all seen MGS4, Uncharted: drake fortune.... WOW... and I thought ppl where going to be talking about that advertising, but it turned out to be a PC vs. Console debate. @pcpwnsconsoles your even worse than Xbots and PSfanboys, I'm PS3 owner my self (I need the 360 but no money right now *sigh*). Many ppl do have a point about PC gaming its expensive, your the only PC fanboy here that the only way to interact with other ppl apparently is through computer monitor, you cant play social games (Rock Band, Guitar Hero, LBP, Super Smash and many others that I'm aware of) on the PC, and I heard that Gears and Assasin's Creed weren't as good on the PC.

I don't think that Gordon or "The Chief" needed anything that big to announce their games. I'm really waiting for them put up something like that for Killzone 2. After the hype and letdown the first one went through they need something to promote it. In all honesty though this second one looks like it could be badass, I especially like the CoD style ADS I've seen in videos.

well all i got to say is PC's suck, this ad is awesome, halo brought nothing to the fps genre except the exceptional stat tracking which was started with resistance 1, and call of duty 4 is probably played on 360 alone more than PC.

I'm actually using a PC to look at this, and I must say its pretty fraking cool looking, and I have been playing the open beta and it is fun as a really fun thing. I'm glad that people like the 360, PS3, and PC enough to feel so passionately and flame up forums, and I am sure the companies that make these products are happy too... Hey for 24, your a giant loser. However since im 23 and probably know more about computers than you, im going to educate you a little.

1st, since your so into pc's, let me tell you I have two Quad Core Xeon 2.2's, 4GB of FULLY buffered ram, a $2000 Nvidia Quadro 4600 video card and 24" 1080p monitor so obviously you cant tell me jack in terms of power and graphics on the pc side.

The Cell processer in the PS3 is superior to my 2 quad core xeons in terms of power and efficiency. That says it all right there...the future of computing, is already employed in the PS3 and will kick the snot out of your Core 2 Duo's no matter how many you have.

I agree with your statement bout Mouse & Keyboard. UT3 for the PS3 has Mouse & Keyboard support. My point is, its possible to do.

What else....oh HL2 wasnt anything special. COD4 kicked the crap out of it. Lets put it this way, if the franchise was the best ever, would there only be 2 half life games?

ok first of all, if you dont like a game you dont have to play it. If yo uenjoy your PC so much go and play the freaking thing, there is absoloutley no need to come here just to bash a game that I can guarentee will outsell the majority of any console or PC games coming out soon.

I love these PC vs Console wars.

I love consoles only because I have a beautiful Bravia XBR 120hz that displays my video games in 1080p (when available) on a glorious 55" screen. And because the TV looks better than my 24" samsung monitor. And plus the sound on my Harmon Kardon + Klipsch system is better than my logitech 5500 on my computer. However I am craving D3 so I will play D2 in pure ugliness to wee hours of the night.

Bottom line, nobody wins. All systems rule, which is why I own them all. No gamer is better than the other, and no game genre is better than another. Those who start this war are too broke ass to afford all of them and must then make a choice. The pride in their choice leads them to believe one is better than the other. So instead of arguing which one is better, use the brain power just wasted here to do some homework so you don't have to work retail the rest of your lives and maybe you can have them all too.

That's an amazing ad.
Hopefully Sony doesn't end up biting itself in the ass with all of this hype.

As to you pre-pubescent guys arguing about which console is the best, let me say this:

Each console has strengths and weaknesses.

XBox 360 has strong titles but lacks the chutzpah of the PS3

PS3 has the most junk in the trunk but lacks the titles to showcase its power.

Wii has the widest base of owners, due to family-oriented games...but lacks the gaming power of the 360 or PS3.

PC...has the best graphical power in the group, and has a plethora of great titles under its belt...but suffers from the high price you must pay to get that power.

So...pick your poison, guys...and quit giving those who don't jump on your bandwagon a hard time for choosing something different.

Ok pretty sure I know more about PC's then both of you do. I'm certified is pretty much every aspect on the network side of things. If you think consoles rule so much of this world why in earth would you go out and spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a "GAMING" PC???? And also running something like that you think you would have at LEAST 8GB of RAM.

I laugh at people like you who search to find the most expensive PC component to make you look good and act like your rich or something.

Probably going to piss a bunch of people off but I played the Resistance 2 Beta Multiplayer this weekend and gotta say that when compared to a game like COD4 that has been out for a year already, RES 2 sucks.... big time. The character animations are cheesy. While you strife, your characters legs are running sideways while your torso is turned toward what you are aiming at, it's just kind of corny looking. The character physics are odd. When you are killed your limp body contorts and falls over itself in an unreal way. At least in COD4 you will get the once in a while chuckle out of how your dead body will slump over an edge or dangle by an arm. But in RES 2 I found my dead body being folded over on itself for no reason. Cont...

The multiplayer lobby is a little too PC for my liking. I don't care whose server I get on or how many players are in what room. I really prefer COD4's way of how you select what game style you want and away you go as the server picks the best game for you. It took me 25 minutes just to get into a game yesterday. I know it is BETA but come on.

@pcpwnsconsoles: LOL! For someone who has so much to say its amazing how little you know about consoles. An old saying springs to mind... "It's better to say nothing and have people think you a moron than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

PCs are great for gaming. I have to say that because I write games for them. Trouble is, if you're a gamer, you are better off buying a console. You are guaranteed everything for that console will run on it with the same experience. You can spend £2k on a PC and then find each new title requires another £200 upgrade to get the best out of it. Lots of top games don't come to the PC because of the ease of piracy too. It will get to the stage where the only major titles on the PC are MMORPGs where you need 72 buttons to control everything! ;-)

Its an awesome advert. Simply having it there makes sites like this report it and spreads the word. Nice job Insomniac. It will be a truly fantastic game. The first one certainly was.
