Behold...'Chinese Democracy'!

Posted October 17, 2008 - By Joseph Baxter

It is the most expensive album that has ever been produced. 14 years in the making, countless release dates broken, and now the reality of its arrival is becoming more imminent. Best Buy has revealed the cover (or at least one of them) of Guns N' Roses' now almost mythical "proper" follow-up to their 1991 Use Your Illusion I & II double album (excluding the live & cover albums.)

The album will be released exclusively to the chain under two alternate covers on November 25th. (Apparently with some of the performances of mega-hyped "avant-garde" guitarist Buckethead still preserved.)

The Official Track List:
   1. Chinese Democracy
   2. Scraped
   3. Shackler's Revenge
   4. Street of Dreams
   5. If The World
   6. Better
   7. This I Love
   8. There Was a Time
   9. Riad N' the Bedovins
  10. Sorry
  11. I.R.S.
  12. Catcher
  13. Madagascar
  14. Prostitute

Chinese Democracy has become, besides a symbol for unmet expectations and lofty goals, a long-running gag that pre-dates "the Macarena." What will we all do when it finally hits? Where will we go? Has anyone even asked if it's good? Does it even matter?
