If you haven't picked up SOCOM: Confrontation yet and are curious about the franchise's PlayStation 3 debut, check out this direct-feed video of some multiplayer action. Or, if you've purchased the game, but just want to see how awesome I am when I can edit out everytime I die... this video is for you!
We'll admit, the SOCOM launch has been rocky with tons of players hitting the servers, but we've been able to log on and get some quality time with the retail release. It's definitely improved since the beta and will only get better from this point.
Yes, there are still some framerate skips, clipping issues, and the game might be a bit too realistic when it comes to shooting from behind cover: the gun's scope is above the barrel and can lead to thinking you'll hit a target, but end up firing straight into cover. We haven't edited out any of these issues as we want to present the game as it is, but the great gameplay more than makes up for these small issues.
If you want to try and get a game with me, add me on PSN ("empathe").
