While Blizzard's upcoming sequel StarCraft II may not have an exact release date just yet, its debut will come in three parts. During last week's BlizzCon convention in Anaheim, California, the publisher announced that the long awaited sequel will be released as a trilogy.
StarCraft II will arrive in three separate race campaigns, arriving in the following order:
- Terrans: Wings of Liberty
- Zerg: Heart of the Swarm
- Protoss: Legacy of the Void
According to Blizzard, each campaign will have its own unique feature such as incorporating RPG elements into the Zerg campaign, elements of diplomacy with the Protoss and more. Each installment will have its own fix of cinematics and storylines. Multiplayer will remain unchanged regardless off the campaign split, although Blizzard mentioned that some units from the campaign mode may not be available in multiplayer.
