Fans Go Nuts At EVO 2008 Tournament

Posted by Tim Cocciardi - Monday, October 06, 2008 11:39 AM

Kotaku posted a story this morning about the EVO Championship Series, an annual tournament of the best fighting games, played by the best fighting-gamers. The tournament can be traced back to a 1995 New York meet-up of top arcade players, determined to find a champion, and is now the longest-running fighting game tournament in the world.

The blood of the Old Ones (arcade gamers) courses through the veins of these ubergamers, and the fans that have gathered. Simply put, their passion is epic. Watch them go absolutely nuts in the video below, and click through the read link for a legendary Street Fighter III performance from the 2004 tournament.

Here's the video from EVO 2004. Amazing stuff.

The Asian threw punches at the beginning (looking a little challenged) and then took of his shirt revealing a wonderfully nerdy pasty body. THAT's why gamers have the rep we have. Heeelarious!!!
