According to GamePro, five maps from the original Gears of War will be offered as DLC for Gears of War 2, but it is uncertain if this is true or how it will work.
We already knew that Gridlock and Subway would be returning, but now there could be 3 more battlegrounds from the first game.
Supposedly, those buying Gears of War 2 will receive vouchers for the maps and be able to download them as DLC. This could be a forward thinking move in an attempt to discourage gamers from buying pre-owned copies of the game after release.
Hit the jump for the other three maps rumored to be set for inclusion in Gears of War 2.
According to GamePro, in addition to Gridlock and Subway, we'll be getting:
- Tyro Station
This leaves us with a few questions. Where's War Machine, easily the best map from Gears of War 1? Gridlock was a no-brainer to be included, but we're wondering how 5v5 will perform on smaller maps like Subway and Mansion. Canals is a great choice and should benefit from an extra COG and Locust in the fight.
We're less than enthusiastic about Tyro Station. We've played too many games on that map that stretch on and on forever as the only two people left chase each other around the map failing to find each other until one of them gets bored and jumps in front of the train.
Remember, this is all rumor right now.
