Activision's latest music project may not involve any instruments at all, aside from the rumored DJ Hero title. The company behind the Guitar Hero franchise filed a mark to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the title, Dance Hero, which--according to the patent via Kotaku--involves "interactive video game programs" and "video game controllers."

The company's certainly looking on expanding their music game genre titles, starting with the full band release of Guitar Hero World Tour (PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii) this October. Launching Dance Hero would be Activision's attempt at starting a dance revolution of their own, in comparison to Konami's ultra-popular arcade/console title.

We always admire sweaty nerds pumping through techno tracks in arcades, but for now, we're just looking forward to jam with some World Tour action this fall.
