Launching an improved website, the publisher and developer of the original Fallout--released in 1997 for the PC and Macintosh platforms--Interplay is moving forward in developing an MMO based on their original game.
While Bethesda Softworks purchased the rights to the series last year, releasing Fallout 3 this October 28 as a result, Interplay still holds the rights to create an online game. The current "Project V13" development alias brings back former Fallout developers Chris Taylor and others.
Although Interplay is developing the project, Bethesda's supervision is allowed during the process. Interplay has until April 2009 to raise $30 million for the project's funding, or else they would have to cease production. Bethesda Softworks's Fallout 3 will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.
