Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser said the reason behind developing a Grand Theft Auto title for the Nintendo DS instead of the Wii--stating that the motion-control capable console "didn't feel natural" with a GTA title. In an interview with Nintendo Power, Houser said:
"It really was that the DS felt like it had a lot of interesting challenges that would be totally different from what we'd done in the past. The stylus and the chance to use minigames in that way was really interesting and exciting to us, and we thought we could integrate seamlessly between those two modes."
According to reports, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will feature cel-shaded graphics along with touch-screen control movements and PDA functions. In other related Houser brothers news, the Rockstar duo's contracts are set to expire this February 2009 from publisher Take-Two Interactive, opening up a possibility that the two might move on to other companies, perhaps Activision.
