Christian Guitar Game Actually Good

Video game Guitar Praise is the Christian Rock alternative to Guitar Hero. It allows for rockin' without all that devil worship and biting the heads off bats that rock and/or roll is known for.

We assumed that the game, like most Christian versions of worldly games, would be sucky. Apparently, we were wrong. According to MTV's multiplayer blog, Guitar Praise is actually a good game. It wisely hews very closely to Guitar Hero without throwing much new junk into the works other than the lineup of Christian rock songs. Apparently it plays okay, isn't glitchy, and comes with a solid peripheral too. Good job, Christians!

So in other words, the game works. That doesn't mean it's good. That just means that the developers did their job. The music still sucks.

While it's good that they have a new game to help out their genre it's not like Guitar Hero was a demonic game.

To be fair, Buff.. there is some Christian music that could compete on the 'musical good/bad' scale as some common pop/rock/top40 stuff.

But Activision/Harmonix knows it probably wouldn't be a driving force for sales if it was included in their game.. (although I'm surprised they never considered it as available DLC )

Have you actually SEEN the game? The graphics are 16-bit at best! Stealing the gameplay of GH and RB does not make it good.

um... maybe im wrong, but if this game was a muslim game, or buddhist game or something else, there wouldnt be as much hatred and sarcasm behind all remarks? im just wondering why its wrong to be hateful towards muslims for the sake of them being muslims, but its okay to do the same to christians and it seem almost popular?

I don't have a problem with Muslims because the crazy fanatic ones that would annoy me don't speak English and are getting shot at anyways.
Christians I can understand and be annoyed by and they're not in any sort of general peril so I feel like they deserve a lot of extra flak.

leyke in deed the porblem is the fanatic but mostly the people on the top that decided to make some money they should get arrested for ccopycat a game but since the game wont be any chalenge to GH they wont bother on checking this out but something is true the sound of cashing is to loud

Note that Flyleaf is a christian band and they are on Rock Band and if I'm not mistaken they are on one of the guitar Hero games as well. NOt saying I'm a big fan of them but I know a lot of people that arent necessarily christian that do.

Arche_Klaine, have you ever listened to the lyrics of Flyleaf's songs? try it, they're speaking DIRECTLY about God, and many of the Christian principles and beliefs. if need be, i'll start quoting a few songs. Flyleaf is indeed a Christian band.

I've listen to Flyleaf for a bit. But not even flyleaf would label themselves as a "Christian Band". Actually Lacey has said herself that she is not confortable being called a Christian Band.

You can find several references to God and Christianity in U2s songs, but I don't think Bono would call U2 a "Christian Band"

Fans have labled them as a Christian Band and not themselves. We're never going to agree on this, it's one of those "I'll use the logic that fits best" arguments.

Even people who arent christians can still listen to this kind of music. take Casting crowns for example (assuming youv heard of them), there a great christian band and there music is not boring at all (im a christian but i honostly just dont like choirs and wat not).

Arche_Klaine, i don't know everything about the band, i only know a little bit, as i've only started listening to them a few months ago, so the debate is done.

on another note, all they need in this game (i have not seen a song list) to really make it successful is some of the more rock groups, maybe Family Force 5 or something, then maybe some Christain hardcore, like Demon Hunter. Demon Hunter FTW! haha

Underoath, August Burns Red, Oh Sleeper, and As I Lay Dying are some really great hardcore christian rock bands that have some intense guitar work that would be suitable for guitar hero. Im christian myself and play guitar(and some of their songs), but i dont mind listening to all kinds of music. Its just music.

Nothing good comes from the Christian community? I guess America sucks then, since it came from the Christian community.

Muslims are getting shot and Christians aren't? 100s of thousands of Christians are slaughtered every year for their beliefs. But why would you want any religious people to be murdered? Wow...

POD, Switchfoot, Flyleaf, TFC, so many Christian bands that are also mainstream, not to mention the ones you haven't heard of. 'They were cool before I knew they were Christian' is an unfortunate approach.

Jesus created music, created legions of angels that do nothing but sing (seripham), and has inspired forward-thinking musicians (David) since the beginning of time. Indeed, Jesus is a rocker. His rock will melt your face. Amen!
