The announcement of upcoming Nintendo DS version of Grand Theft Auto (Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars) was pretty exciting at this year's E3, but since then, we haven't heard a lot about the title. This morning, some details are trickling in. According to Eurogamer (via Nintendo Power):
- Mature rating
- Cel-shaded, be presented from an isometric viewpoint and include a day-night cycle and weather effects.
- The touch-screen will handle the bulk of movement, with the d-pad for targeting, right shoulder button for auto-aim, and a subtle auto-steer system in place.
- User-interface will, apparently, be based on a PDA, where functions such as GPS, emails, music-player and contacts can be accessed from.
- Rockstar has designed Chinatown Wars with shorter bursts of playtime in mind; thankfully this means failed missions can be restarted from where the action took place, and not where the mission was accepted.
The game is scheduled to come out in 2009.
