In an effort to prove that they will support a game the longest, Blizzard has released a new patch for their best-selling RTS StarCraft.
The patch brings the game up to version 1.15.3 and includes the following fixes:
- Fixed a communication bug affecting third party leagues.
- Alt-F6 no longer stalls the game on Windows.
- Game now works correctly on versions of Mac OS X which do not support 256-color mode.
A word of warning, however. The patch breaks compatibility with iCCup and Chaoslauncher so hold off on upgrading if you really need your third-party league action.
iCCup, for those of you that don't know, is a third-party, emulated Battle.net that most of the skilled StarCraft players use, even some of the Korean pro's.
Chaoslauncher is a 3rd-party program that offers a customized, expanded experience like actions-per-minute (APM) tracking, better observer tools, and auto-replay saving.
Hopefully both services will be up and running with the new patch soon.
Do you still play StarCraft? We do.
