According to Forbes, ubiquitous, octopus-like search engine company Google may be moving into making videogames. There hasn't been an announcement and the evidence is circumstantial, but here's where the speculation comes from:
- Google owns "Google Lively," an avatar-based social interaction site.
- In March 2007, google bought in-game advertising firm Adscape for $23 million.
- Google does everything, whether it's mail, satellite maps or taking pictures of my house.
Here's what industry analyst Colin Sebastian Lazard Capital Markets says: "The way Google works is they try a lot of different things, and they're OK with putting out sub-par products initially to get things moving... People are pretty forgiving of that ... since they're good at upgrading their products."
