The studio behind the Age of Empire RTS series may shut down after the completion of its latest Xbox 360 project, Halo Wars, according to a rumor reported by Shack News.
The report states that several employees from Ensemble Studios that were not involved in the Halo Wars project were laid off today by the company, and incentives were offered for the others working on the title. After the title is finished, the studio itself may close for an as-of-yet undisclosed reason. Microsoft is the current parent company of Ensemble Studios.
Halo Wars is currently due out in the first quarter of 2009. Stay tuned for updates.
