Even a casual film-viewer would agree that last years Disturbia shares many elements with Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window. The folks who own the rights to the story that Rear Window is based upon sure think so. They feel that recently released teen thriller is more than an homage to Hitchcock; they say it's a copy. And they want their cut of the film's profits.
"What the defendants have been unwilling to do openly, legitimately and legally, (they) have done surreptitiously, by their back-door use of the 'Rear Window' story without paying compensation," the lawsuit said.
One big difference between the two movies: Jimmy Stewart would kick Shia LeBoef's ass all over creation.
