YouTube Cracking Down on Adult Vids

Posted September 5, 2008 - By Stephen Johnson

In news that will send cries of Oh Noes! ringing through the YouTube community, the site is taking steps to crack down on sexy videos. One of the first affected: New York-based FullTurn Media, who make "sex-ed" videos under the illumistream brand. They were one of YouTube's most-viewed video-makers, but 'Tube recently decided to put their videos behind their 18-plus filter, cutting into the traffic hugely.

The company was also suspended from YouTube for gaming the thumbnail system by deliberately inserting suggestive frames at the exact point youtube will grab the thumbnail for their videos. Illumistream is re-editing its videos to make them less scammy.

Check out the below video from Attack of the Show for an insider's look at Illumistream.
