Rumor on the internet: Red Steel 2 could be out in 2009.
Wii launch title Red Steel wasn't the greatest game ever--wonky controls, blocky graphics, etc.--but it had so much potential. Sword fighting + Wii = awesome idea, but the relatively clunky Wii-mote just can't capture the subtly necessariy for actual swordplay.
Enter the WiiMotionPlus, a soon-to-be-released Wii add-on that will add true one-to-one control to the Wiimote. The rumor is, Red Steel 2 will use this technology and might, finally, give us the slashing and/or swashbuckling we crave. Let's hope so.
