'Red Steel 2' In 2009?

Rumor on the internet: Red Steel 2 could be out in 2009.

Wii launch title Red Steel wasn't the greatest game ever--wonky controls, blocky graphics, etc.--but it had so much potential. Sword fighting + Wii = awesome idea, but the relatively clunky Wii-mote just can't capture the subtly necessariy for actual swordplay.

Enter the WiiMotionPlus, a soon-to-be-released Wii add-on that will add true one-to-one control to the Wiimote. The rumor is, Red Steel 2 will use this technology and might, finally, give us the slashing and/or swashbuckling we crave. Let's hope so.

If there is any truth to this rumor, my question is this: Why didn't Nintendo announce RS2 at E3? What a missed opportunity that would've appeased some gamers and turn their F-grade press conference at least into a D+ one.

I agree that N should have announced it. Announcing a game that you'd actually want THAT won't be out for another year and a half is what they do best. But that is not Ubi-softs way.

BTW the first Red Steel was a great game. If you couldn't aim with this game it just meant that you sucked. That shakey red dot was all you my friend. LOL

i have HIGH doubts and HIGH hopes this game succeeds were it failed. just because of the motion plus tech will be out doesn't mean the game is fix right away, they got a long way to go. . .high hopes for this game though, did i say that already, am i talking to myself?

Video game sequels almost always improve on the original. Look at Street fighter 1 and 2. Only game historiens care about the first game . The sequel is universally respected. Red steel could be a footnote to Red steel 2.There is hope
