Original founder and inspiration of Nerdcore hip hop, the great Kool Keith, has killed off his most recognized rap alias, Dr. Octagon, in a gory new video.
Marking the return of another one of his aliases, Dr. Dooom, Keith stars in a gory new Grindhouse-inspired video courtesy of Threshold Recordings, the label founded by his DJ and producer Kutmaster Kurt.
Watch the video above, but be prepared, it’s not for those who fear blood!
And stay tuned for Kool Keith on G4’s multi-platform hip hop series Freestyle 101…
Meanwhile, nerdy hip hop lives on G4, as evident by our latest TV commercial, starring Nerdcore rapper MC Lars. Enjoy!

The beat was alright, but god the vocals were horrid.
Tasamo, that did sound like an open mic rambling, but I highly recommend you check out the first Dr. Octagon album anyway. Dan's production on it is classic!
Frank, not only is Kool Keith not the originator of nerdcore, he really doesn't have anything to do with it at all. If you are making the argument that Keith was one of the earlier nerd rappers, you'd be missing it by about ten years (check He's The DJ, I'm the Rapper for early nerd rap luv). Nerdcore is really just a self identified genre, and Kool Keith has never referred to himself or identified with the nerd thing. That space rap stuff was just a popular subgenre in underground rap that was more of a reference to intelligent (conscious) rhymes than geek love.
