Update: Thanks to an update by ShackNews, Team Fortress 2 players can now start up their Steam and download the "Heavy Update" for the game, including the new "Sandvich" unlockable above.
Valve's hit FPS Team Fortress 2 will be getting "A Heavy Update,". The new update will bring along an "Arena Mode" that expands the already stellary multiplayer experience of the title.
According to the website, although the new maps in Arena mode are smaller than the initial battlegrounds, they increase the gameplay's pace at a much faster speed. "Where other game modes lean towards a broad overall strategy for the team over a number of lives, Arena concentrates on the specific tactical choices the teams make in a single fight," stated in the game's official website.
With a new gameplay pace, Arena will influence TF2 veterans to alter their class strategies and pairings--whether they would choose the Sniper/Spies combo or switch it up. Two new maps--Lumberyard, Ravine--will be also brought in with the update, as well as remodeled, Arena-friendly versions of the previous Well, Granary and Badlands maps. Team Fortress 2, published by Electronic Arts, was released in October 2007 for the PC.
