In the midst of The Dark Knight's continuous box office success, Eidos Interactive unveiled their latest crime title with the caped crusader, Batman: Arkham Asylum, as reported by Game Informer.
This new title seems to not tie-in with Warner's movie and the graphic novel bearing the same name, but Paul Dini, one of the driving forces behind the Batman: Animated Series that initally aired in 1992, has co-written the game's script. Just like the title suggests, the game is set around the dark and disturbing home of the Joker and his fellow Gotham maniacs. Bioshock, by 2K Games, was mentioned in comparison to the game's atmosphere, as well as the Unreal Engine 3 graphics engine.
Batman: Arkham Aslum will be developed by Rocksteady Studios, who features a countdown on their website.
